Nick Dryden is a NAATI Level 3-accredited French to English translator and experienced proofreader and copywriter.
After studying French throughout secondary school, in 2012 Nick graduated from the Bachelor of Arts (Languages) program at Monash University, majoring in French and Linguistics. As part of this degree he also studied at Université Jean Moulin in Lyon.
Returning to Monash, in 2015 Nick graduated from the Master of Interpreting and Translation Studies program, specialising in translation with a thesis-level major translation project involving political philosophy and sociological research. During this course he completed internships with the Melbourne French Theatre Company and Melbourne-based translation company Polaron Language Services.
In 2016 Nick was hired by Polaron as a translation Project Manager. In this role he took on a wide variety of responsibilities including overseeing projects consisting of thousands of words translated into dozens of languages, as well as managing translation and interpreting projects of all sizes from enquiry to delivery, with a strong emphasis on consistency and quality control. Nick also had the opportunity to work for Polaron as a translator, translating legal and identity documents, as well as drafting and editing internal and external publications for the company.
In 2017, Nick left Polaron to pursue translation full time, registering the name Dryden Language Services and marketing directly to clients with the aim of providing agency-standard quality and presentation at competitive freelance prices.
